Two Trinity Basin Preparatory South Campus teachers will spend part of their summer break in the Sunshine State in June as part of 106.1 FM’s The Kidd Kraddick Morning Show Classroom Getaway.

Co-host of the radio show, Kellie Raspberry, surprised South Campus creative dance teacher Candace Turner with the trip.

Ms. Turner will join four other teachers in Hollywood, Florida, in June for several days. She also gets to bring one person with her, and she has selected South Campus theater teacher Heather Graziadei to join her.

This surprise came just a couple of months after Ms. Turner and Ms. Graziadei won $500 from the radio show to fund a new project the pair is working on.

“We are going to do Commedia dell'arte, which is from the Italian Renaissance, and they have different archetypes of characters, and they have masks and costumes,” said Turner.

The show will feature South students from the advanced dance and theater classes.

“We thought it would be a cool way for us to combine our advanced classes to really learn how to do something that encompasses so many parts of what we do,” said Graziadei.

Congratulations, Ms. Turner and Ms. Graziadei, on your win!
