Fine Arts Triumph: South Campus Among Top 5 in State with TxETA Award

TBP’s South Campus has been honored with the prestigious TxETA Awards of Distinction, recognizing the school's exceptional commitment to educational excellence in the fine arts. This accolade, bestowed by the Texas Educational Theatre Association (TxETA), was officially announced during the awards ceremony at TxETA’s Theatrefest in Galveston. South Campus theater teacher Heather Graziadei traveled over the weekend of October 28 to receive the award.

The South Campus was one of only five elementary programs in the entire state to receive this award, and beyond that, the campus earned an exemplary distinction—the highest level achievable.

"We plan to win the title next year as well and continue to represent the arts at Trinity Basin Preparatory South, proving we can work hand in hand with core classes to achieve greatness," Graziadei said.

Graziadei expressed her pride in the fine arts department’s efforts.

"I am incredibly proud of the fine arts department our campus has created together. This would not be possible without the incredible support of our staff and administration," she said.

"Reaching the level of TxETA’s Awards of Distinction is not an ordinary feat,” TxETA President Travis Springfield wrote in the announcement of the award. “It represents a consistent commitment to educational growth, fostering a supportive learning environment, and promoting a culture of achievement."

The award committee echoed this sentiment, commending Graziadei and her team for their unwavering dedication and outstanding leadership.

"Your vision, passion, and dedication to creating a dynamic learning space have touched the lives of countless individuals, and this recognition serves as a true testament to the positive influence you have had on your community," the committee stated.

Principal Audrey Mason also expressed her pride in the campus's achievement, adding, "The South Campus has worked tirelessly to elevate our fine arts program, and this recognition from TxETA affirms the strength of our efforts. We are incredibly proud of our students and staff for their commitment to excellence."

As the school community celebrates this honor, the recognition by TxETA serves as a reminder of the impact that dedicated educators can have on fostering an environment where students thrive and excel.
