HPA South Embarks on Exciting Expansion Journey
Construction plans for the expansion of the HPA: South campus were recently finalized with the selection of Sedalco Inc. as general contractor. The project, slated to be completed by the end of 2025, promises to usher in a new era of enhanced facilities and opportunities for students and staff alike.
The expansion, situated at 7241 Crowley Road, will build upon the existing elementary school structure, adding approximately 29,000 square feet of new construction to accommodate the growing needs of the vibrant learning community.
"This expansion represents a significant milestone for the HPA: South Campus,” David Tecuatl, TBP’s Chief Operations Officer, said. “We are committed to providing our students with top-notch facilities that foster academic excellence and personal growth."
The scope of the expansion, encompasses four major components, each meticulously designed to enrich the educational experience:
- Classroom Block: A two-story building spanning 12,000 square feet will house ten new classrooms equipped with state-of-the-art technology to facilitate immersive learning experiences.
- Kitchen: With a focus on nutrition and efficiency, the 2,600 square foot kitchen space will cater to the needs of up to 1,000 students, allowing for on-site meal preparation.
- Cafeteria: Spanning 5,000 square feet, the cafeteria will serve as a communal hub for students to enjoy nutritious meals and socialize in a welcoming environment.
- Gymnasium: Designed to double as a storm shelter, the 8,700 square foot gymnasium will provide a safe haven for students and staff during inclement weather, while also offering ample space for athletic activities.
Jason Oliver, Construction Services Project Manager, expressed enthusiasm for the project, stating, "We're excited to bring this vision to life and create spaces that inspire learning and collaboration."
Jana Godkin, Principal of HPA: South, emphasized the positive impact the expansion will have on the school community.
